Andrassy ut 111., Budapest 1062, Hungary
During my stay in Budapest I stayed at the cosy Mamaison Andrassy Hotel.
Mamaison was perfectly located. A 5-minute walk from Heroes’ Square and Margaret Bridge on the Danube bank is approx. 2.5 km away. Only a 10-minute walk away from the conference venue I had to attend and the Széchenyi Baths.
Mamaison Andrassy isn’t a very large hotel, with only 61 rooms and 7 suites. The rooms are decorated in opulent colours giving them a warm feeling. Features include free wifi (with strong connectivity), satellite TV, a telephone, plenty sockets, a safe, minibar, blackout curtains and aircon.
Another feature, that didn’t actually work in my room, was a massage shower.
The room itself wasn’t the biggest and had a small double that was the perfect size for just me, but maybe a squeeze with another person. The bed was comfortable with soft sheets and a firm mattress.
Restaurant & Bar
I had breakfast included in my stay and ate at their La Perle Noire Restaurant and Bar. The restautant also has a terrace (pictured above), which I never got to sit in. Mamaison didn’t have the greatest variety for its breakfast buffet, offering a more continental breakfast with bread rolls, croissants, eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit and yoghurt. The design of the restaurant was very sleek and modern, with comfy seating.
Although I didn’t take advantage of any of their additional services, Mamaison has meeting rooms for up to 80 people. You can also request an in-room massage and an airport shuttle through Minibud. As well as this, you can pay in advance for use of the Széchenyi Baths and they’ll even provide you with a towel and slippers before you head off.
