21 going on 26

Before turning 26, I had what I’d like to call a “quarter-life crisis”. I thought turning 25 was bad enough and then to surpass that threshold and be on the cusp of 30, was not the easiest to deal with.

Then I got a hold of myself and words from a friend reassured me that 26 is a good age. He said –

26 is an age where you are sure of yourself…

Although I have never doubted myself, you always feel like you could be doing more or be in a better position. Needless to say, I am truly grateful for another year of life and where I am headed.

Without waffling on for much longer, I wanted to share with you what I got up to on my birthday – where I went and what I done.

09:30

My birthday was on a Thursday this year, so I decided to take Thursday and Friday off work. The day started like any other weekday for me.

11:00

However, unlike the ordinary weekday, today I had booked myself in for a facial and massage. It took place at Crown Beauty in Upper Norwood. I’ve used them before for a similar treatment and have always left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

14:30

I met up with my partner and headed up west. I didn’t know where we were off to but I had mentioned I had wanted to see the Aladdin theatre show and low and behold – my wish was granted. The show was amazing! The costumes, singing and staging all contributed to a sublime show.

After the show we headed back to my partner’s and I started getting ready. Two hours later…I was finally ready.

21:00

To end a perfect day, we went for dinner at Hakkasan. Good food and good conversation with the best partner I could ask for.
